Welcome to Worry-Free Anesthesia!
Imagine that you need to have a medical procedure that requires anesthesia, or being put to sleep. Now imagine that your fear of being put to sleep is so overwhelming that it actually prevents you from being able to undergo a procedure that you really need. Maybe it is a life-saving surgery or procedure that will help diagnose a potentially deadly disease. Imagine that person was you.
During a recent pre-op visit, a patient expressed that his fear of anesthesia brought all of his other fears to the front of his mind. He was terrified, and, in the end, cancelled a procedure that he even admitted he really needed. I watched him struggle and stress the entire time. He texted a friend several times to try to build up courage. He left in the same condition he arrived all because he was afraid of the anesthesia.
What if there was another way to ease your fears about anesthesia?
What if an experienced anesthesia provider could ease your fears about anesthesia, guide you through the typical process of what to expect on the day of surgery, labor and delivery, etc, and put your mind more at ease before you even arrived at the hospital?
What if I could arm you with information and right questions and instructions to help an already stressful time be a little less stressful?
What if you felt more confident and relaxed going into that big procedure?
What if your child did? How would that make your child feel? How would it make you feel?
Would that change your life for the better?
In a moment when you must trust strangers, would knowing exactly what to expect make you feel more in control?
Enter Your Anesthesia Provider!

Hi there! I'm Jen, and I'm here to do just that!
In my work as a healthcare provider for the past 20 years, I have seen this struggle over and over again. Anesthesia is supposed to make your life better, safer, and definitely more pain-free!
As a patient, you are the decision-maker. You get to decide what happens to your body. As a parent or guardian, you have to make the best healthcare decisions for your child.
I want to arm you with information to make this stressful time a lot easier. I want to make your life better. I want to make surgery and anesthesia safer by equipping you, the patient, parent or guardian with that knowledge.
Let me help you by showing you what to expect, do's and don'ts, and maybe a few tips along the way to make your experience a whole lot better. I'm going to try to cover as much as I can think of, which is a lot, but if you have any specific questions or ideas, feel free to comment, and I will answer or write an appropriate post as I see your feedback.
Keep in mind, this the world wide web so do not post information that is private.
We're gonna get through this together because as your anesthesia provider, I will never ever leave your side.
And also, this is plain old me without the mask...just to make it a little less scary!
